
Ms. Aqsa Fayyaz
Aqsa Fayyaz is a Psychology lecturer at FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Karachi Campus, also providing counselling services to the students for their well-being. She has completed her Master’s degree (MS) in Clinical Psychology and Bachelors in Psychology (BS) from Institute of Professional Psychology (IPP), Bahria University Karachi Campus. As a Clinical Psychologist she worked at Parvarish Rehabilitation Center (PRC), as an Intern Psychologist at Agha khan Hospital (AKU), Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) and Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Centre Institute of Behavioral Sciences (IBS) and shows keen interest in the well-being of inpatients and outpatients. With a passion for public speaking and teaching, she also served as Psychology Course Instructor at PNS Shifa Hospital and is currently providing free mental health counseling sessions over the phone to clients at UMANG (a mental health helpline) also has voluntarily participated as a therapist and assessor in various mental health camps. Her core competencies include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Art therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Interpersonal therapy, Addiction related counselling, and Psychodiagnostic Assessments to deal with emotional and Psychological problems of the individuals. Moreover, she has an extensive experience of working under-supervision, with various age groups including children, adolescents and adults facing clinical disorders like depression, anxiety, sleep disorders etc.

Achievements
1) Did a final year thesis on “Impact of Grit on Academic Motivation and Academic Success among undergraduate students of different disciplines”.
2) conducted 1-hour workshop on “Time management” for the students of last semesters in a 3day skill development training Program as a guest speaker session at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (28th June 2021).
3) During Lockdown Conducted 1-hour online session on “How to be productive in an unproductive Lockdown” for the student population at Ed-watch (An online platform).
4) Attended certified course of “National conference on changing trends in clinical psychology” (NCCTCP) in 2015 which increased knowledge about changes in Clinical practice in Pakistan during the years and insight on latest research in the field.
5) Attended certified course on “Psychology made easy for FCPS part II at Agha Khan University”.
6) Completed a certified course of “Innovative Approaches to Psychotherapy”.
7) Attended workshop on “Introduction to Quantitative Data Analysis”.
