Multivariate statistical techniques and techniques of linear algebra have been utilized in my research work to show that the intensity and location/movement of these semi-permanent centers of action plays an important role in explaining the climate variability over various regions in contrast of large-scale phenomena like, El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) which are considered as major contributor of climate variability over the large part of the globe.
