Ghufran Ahmed holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and currently serves as a Professor at the FAST School of Computing, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Karachi. He brings a diverse background in teaching and research, having previously served in academic roles at Department of Computer Science, COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. He spent a year at the Department of Computer Science and Digital Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Environment, Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK for PostDoc in 2014-15. He completed his Ph.D. in 2013 from the Department of Computer Science, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (renamed to Capital University of Science and Technology), Islamabad. His areas of research are IoT, Wireless Sensor Networks, Wireless Body Area Networks, and Cloud Computing. He also worked as a visiting scholar at the CReWMaN Lab, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington in 2008–09. He has served as a Guest Editor for the special sections of the International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks (IJDSN), the Hindawi Journal of Sensors, and the Hindawi Journal of Wireless Communication and Mobile Computing. He is also working as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access, Academic Editor for Wiley J. Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing, and Wiley J. Sensors. He is also serving as an Editorial Board Member of Ad Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks (AHSWN).
